The name Kō Moz Qo̠ is derived from the Wood Elvish language, as Kō Moz Qo̠ was founded by Shtumgli Uzeruh, who was culturaly Wood Elven.
Climate
Kō Moz Qo̠ has a yearly average temperature of 18°C (64°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a pleasant 25°C (77°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cool 11°C (51°F). Kō Moz Qo̠ receives an average of 246 cm/y (96 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of rain during the summer. Kō Moz Qo̠ covers an area of nearly 513 km2 (205 mi2), and an average elevation of 1710 m (5610 ft) above sea level.
Overview
Kō Moz Qo̠ was founded durring the late 14th century in summer of the year 1273, by Shtumgli Uzeruh. The establishment of Kō Moz Qo̠ was only bairly constructed. The sheer number of problems with its founding were enough to make several of the backers funding Kō Moz Qo̠'s construction back out of the project. Shtumgli Uzeruh pushed on reguardles, and Kō Moz Qo̠ was finished, but starts off as a terible place to live.
Kō Moz Qo̠ was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the late 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Kō Moz Qo̠ is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.
Kō Moz Qo̠ is buildings folow an organic layout of crampt baked earthen streets whihch gives the city a shape simmilar to a tree, if one views its streets from above. The city is in posession of a finaly crafted dwarvern style fortified fighting wall, completer with lower, middle, and upper battlments for use in sloped-fire defence stratagies, murder holes, and statues which may or may not be constructs, and, of course, MERTICULATIONSshortsizename is one of the wealthiest and politicaly connected settlments in the world.. The city's Ragnarock-era relics are visibly old, but also obviously maintained semi-regularly. Its likly the local malishia or garrison are tasked with ocasional mantance of the citys defences.
Kō Moz Qo̠ has a very calm atmosphere. People can be seen relaxing, scocilizing, and going about all manner of business other than the daily grind. Men, women, children, all can be seen enjoying life in a laid-back way in the many parks which line Kō Moz Qo̠’s streets.
Civic Infrastructure
Kō Moz Qo̠ possesses a city-wide Aethary Link which provides Aethary access anywhere within its metropolitan. This allows citizens who can afford the relevant devices access in their places of work, and rarely homes.
Kō Moz Qo̠ has an animal control department which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the control, impoundment, and disposition of animals.
Kō Moz Qo̠ has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Kō Moz Qo̠. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Kō Moz Qo̠'s parks.
Kō Moz Qo̠ has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Kō Moz Qo̠.
Kō Moz Qo̠ has a government-funded child care program, overseen by the local Department of Nursemaids, which is responsible for providing childcare to working-class citizens according to local ordinances.
Kō Moz Qo̠ has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.
Kō Moz Qo̠ has a Guild of Nurses, which is tasked with caring for the elderly and infirm in accordance with local ordinances, religious values, and customs.
Kō Moz Qo̠ has a Department of Firefighters, which is responsible for organizing fire fighting efforts during a fire and enforcing local ordinances relating to fire safety.
Kō Moz Qo̠ has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.
Kō Moz Qo̠ has a Hall of Slayers, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.
Kō Moz Qo̠ has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Kō Moz Qo̠'s public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.
Kō Moz Qo̠ has an Administrative Academy which trains individuals in the administrative arts.
Kō Moz Qo̠ possesses a Galvanic Power Grid, which brings galvanic current to most if not all buildings in town, and permits a great many consumer goods to function within the Large City. Kō Moz Qo̠'s grid is powered by an arcane means.
Kō Moz Qo̠ possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. In spite of the Galvanic Grid, these lights continue to use their old fule sources to provide nighttime illumination to all city streets.
Kō Moz Qo̠ has a first rate hospital which caters to anyone in need of long term medical care.
Kō Moz Qo̠ has a library, which keeps a large collection of books, scrolls, and archives all manner of physical items. While not open to the public, the librarians and scholars employed by the library will assist anyone with their research needs, and wealthy individuals can purchase membership to access the library's materials themselves. In spite of being generally closed to the public, the library has a room with several Aether Linked devices available to the public during business hours.
Kō Moz Qo̠ has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Kō Moz Qo̠'s natural decorations nor waterways.
Kō Moz Qo̠ has a Guild of Roadworkers, who are responsible for maintaining the roadways and public paths within town. They also have the duty of enforcing all civil laws relating to the roadways.
Kō Moz Qo̠ has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.
Kō Moz Qo̠ has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.
Kō Moz Qo̠ is home to a University which provides higher education in a variety of fields, and also serves as a research institute for those same fields.
Cultural Notes
Kō Moz Qo̠'s chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is which made use of the classical orders and mathematically precise ratios of height and width combined with a desire for symmetry, proportion, and harmony. It used columns, pediments, arches and domes are imaginatively in buildings of all types. Decorative features were seen as largely unnecessary as the sheer beauty of the structure itself was often close to art. However, many buildings with large ceiling spaces had their ceilings decorated with elaborate paintings, simply because the large flat spaces could feel wasted.
Due to the actions of local Kami, autumn is recurring in Kō Moz Qo̠.
The Goldpebble near Kō Moz Qo̠ are known to be a mutant strain of the creature.
Kō Moz Qo̠'s citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in winter and involves consuming a local narcotic to channel Summoning energies of tier 2 via moments of science.
Economy
The following information was obtained via the Imperial Census Bureau as part of the Eyom Economic Outreach Program. It differs from Standard Imperial censuses in that many of Tom's citizens, regardless of culture, work in more than one occupation or hold more than a single job. Almost every community has some problem with bandits and highwaymen, but Kō Moz Qo̠ is seriously plagued with raiders. One or more groups of persistent plunderers are hitting the community repeatedly, and they lack the necessary resources to fend them off or protect all their holdings.
In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century the Kami ended a drought plaguing Kō Moz Qo̠. One of Kō Moz Qo̠'s local festivals commemorates this miracle.
